Sam & Kate Get Wed

Enter: Kate and Sam.

When our two lovely friends asked to have their wedding at the ranch, we said absolutely! It was a beautiful day with their friends and family all around. Not a detail was spared as Kate and Sam curated what was a unique, intimate, and stunning day out at the ranch. The following is a reflection from Kate on their special day.

The moment I stepped foot on Ralph’s Rowdy Boy Ranch, greeted by Hank the farm dog, I felt a sense of home, calm, and magic. I was able to envision the wedding celebration I never knew possible, which involved hoisting a parachute, foraging prairie grasses, and carving out space for my dad to set up his telescope, aimed at Jupiter.

Kate's father with the telescope!

I wanted my wedding to be a reflection of my relationship with my husband, and Ralph’s provided the time and resources necessary for our creative ideas to flourish. We began the three day affair with a rehearsal dinner pizza party and margaritas with our nearest and dearest. On the big day we greeted our guests with a happy hour on the porch, then gathered in the round pen for the ceremony and moved over to the prairie off of the big barn for a candlelit dinner, toasts, and dancing late into the night, under the stars. The next morning we shared a lazy campfire breakfast with guests who traveled from afar to celebrate with us, a few daring souls even camped out in the hollow. It was a whirlwind weekend, but there is something about the farm that allowed me to feel present every step of the way.

I also can’t think about this day without thinking of Ben. He is the most gracious and caring host and human, this day wouldn’t have been as beautiful without him. If you want a wedding like no one else’s, this is the place for you. Ralph’s Rowdy Boy Ranch will forever hold a special place in my heart.
